FWIW, I am also +1 on your proposal, as currently documented in the Google doc. I was trying to come up with a proposal where LTS == major release for the sake of argument, since it seemed like that was intuitive to at least some people, but it's not worth the required lengthening of deprecation paths. Your proposal is much better. (And it does make some intuitive sense for the _last_ minor release in a major series to be LTS rather than the first).
