You'll probably need to make sure that the account that coldfusion is
running under has the proper permissions to access the network drive. By
default, it wouldn't.

Well, the mapping is local to the user who is currently logged into
the machine. It's somewhat easier to use a UNC path, but then
remember that the user that the CF process "runs as" also needs
permissions on that remote drive. This may mean using a domain
account.
Permissions are really a pain with this type of thing.
