Hello, Although not a direct answer to your question, speaking on the *BSD side, I have encountered some that think the same thing about the *BSD flavours (ie. that they're "not ready" or "not mature enough" for production). But they are being readily used in production - not sure how I could show how much a technology is being leveraged by ISPs, physicians, and local hosting companies, for example. I hesitate to burden SMBs with surveys. I guess when multinational companies use these technologies, there are opportunites to shine a light on them (ex. Netflix and FreeBSD). I wish that more big companies would do this.
