Thanks Fred,
The sparc hypervisor requires a primary / control domain to communicate
with the hypervisor.
OpenBSD has a daemon, a config file and an ldom admin command for
controlling the sparc hypervisor, which makes it a good candidate for
the primary domain.
https://man.openbsd.org/man5/sparc64/ldom.conf.5
I don't know whether Sun released the hypervisor's manager ldm under an
OS license, however I believe the hypervisor itself was released under
GPLv2.
OpenBSD's logical domain admin was developed independently of the Sun
implementation.
Using this it would be possible to provide access for developers to test
on sparc, that is build, boot and test, but it would have to be accessed
via the OpenBSD control domain.
Cheers,
Peter.

The majority of hypervisor for logical domain should run in SP on the mainboard.
For OS perspective, it should be some interfaces.

Subject: [discuss] Sparc Hypervisor
I'm setting up three logical domains on the sparc hypervisor, for building and
developing Illumos.
I've noticed that there doesn't appear to be a logical domains manager included
with Illumos, OpenBSD fully supports the sparc hypervisor, even on the latest
sparc processors, and it's a very small daemon and utility, so I might look at
porting that to Illumos, but first I'll be using OpenBSD as the primary control
domain, with various illumos flavours in logical domains.
Cheers,
Peter.
