Hi,

Any time the account settings were opened, this workaround had to be
used. Sometimes, there would be a SEGFAULT when trying to change which
folders are subscribed to. The only way to get IMAP to connect after a
restart is to go through the SMTP workaround above and then Receive
options -> Check supported.

segfaults are never good, but that part where SMTP is checked is extermely strange and delicate. Some issues always popup.
For me it works now usually.
I had an intermittent problem where also sending emails doesn't work the first time, only the second. Only checking SMTP capabilities

The issue was found in the SMTP DNS. Using other DNS solvers like google or CLoudFlare made it work reliably.

You could try to compare if the issue happens with the same settings on Mac and GNUstep.

Next step is try to check for Exceptions with gdb...

But don't hold your breath, working in Pantomime/GNUmail is usually quite hard for me! Usually then need to ask for help from other hackers here... Progress is quit slow but has been there!
