Maybe I'm way off here (very new to GNUstep), but it feels like
touch/mobile shouldn't be a focus until the desktop is well established.
If I understand correctly, Foundation and AppKit are extensively
developed (though documentation isn't complete; I'll save that for
another thread), but there are still plenty of Cocoa frameworks that
could be implemented for the desktop.

What is GNUstep's current mission? Is it:
1. The same as in the [wiki][1], last updated in 2006?
2. To copy Apple and be a framework for Apple developers to write
   cross-platform apps?
3. To be the best UI toolkit for the desktop platform?
4. To be the best development toolkit, that also offers cross-platform
   support?
5. Something else?

If the mission can be described succinctly, it'll be easier for the
vision of GNUstep's future to become clear.
