I recently had some success getting DirectFB-1.1.1 working on Cygwin
using X11 for graphics output. I have not tested it extensively but some
simple applications run.
Next, I would like to get the SDL back-end ('system') working so that I
can use SDL to display graphics instead of X11.
However, I tried DirectFB-1.1.1 with the SDL back-end on Linux today and
running an application would display an SDL window but the application
graphics would not appear and the application would become unresponsive.
I was using SDL 1.2.13. (Actually I got this far with SDL on Cygwin
but...) My impression is that the SDL back-end is out of date with the
recent changes to DirectFB, is this correct?
If so, I will try to follow any interface changes made to the fbdev
back-end in the SDL back-end. Can anyone point me towards when the SDL
back-end was current/working so that I have something to compare to?
