Is 10/hr the current rate in a long term trend of increasing activity, or has there been a recent dramatic step in activity? A dramatic step could indicate a single person creating many nodes, perhaps in an attempt gather statistics indicating the rough size of freenet and its current traffic levels.

Assuming that during the two hour period that I was watching inform.php I saw typical behaviour, that is 6 an hour, 144 a day. Recall that nodes only register themselves once they have been up for 24 hours consecutively so all of these nodes should be reasonably stable.
