Is 10/hr the current rate in a long term trend of increasing activity, or
has there been a recent dramatic step in activity? A dramatic step could
indicate a single person creating many nodes, perhaps in an attempt gather
statistics indicating the rough size of freenet and its current traffic
levels.

Subject: [freenet-devl] a new node registers with inform.php every 10
minutes

I have been watching nodes as they register to inform.php (a good
demonstration of why we need to get rid of it), and was amazed to notice
that we were getting about one node registering every 10 minutes.
Assuming that during the two hour period that I was watching inform.php
I saw typical behaviour, that is 6 an hour, 144 a day. Recall that
nodes only register themselves once they have been up for 24 hours
consecutively so all of these nodes should be reasonably stable.

Ian.
