Speaking of business: keep in mind that the people you spoke to might either work on KDE or Qt in their spare time. Or, they might get paid to work on Qt for commercial license holders with a support contract.
Hence I can only suggest that your best chance of getting this issue fixed is a) do it yourself (I got involved in KDE and Qt like that) or b) pay someone to fix it.
