For XML, which has the same problem exponentiated, IETF introduced the +xml suffix, to be used by all mimetypes that use XML. This is considerably harder to do than a mere .vnd-tree registration, though, as you'd need to write an RFC draft :) You might try to sneak +qml in through the side-lines, of course: text/vnd.qt.quick+qml text/vnd.rim.cascades+qml (assuming that's what you meant with BB above) Mentioning in each (because you don't have a separate document) that +qml is supposed to be used for all qml formats.
