Force updating the branch means you can no longer get to the original commit 
from the pull request and the comments specific to that commit, like @jwk404's 
question asking about my test environment.  They're still there, but hidden 
unless you know the commitid.

Maybe what we should do is have a branch get updated patches, then once they 
get the final OK, push a new branch with the final squashed commit?  e.g. this 
branch is illumos-6403, final version would be in illumos-6403-final?
