This "application needs" is a bit superfluous since all the configure
defines express application needs. I guess you get a linker error on
all architectures except aarch64 if you use this option?
I'll update my patches to that symbol and adjust the documentation
accordingly.
Yes, that's currently the case for non-aarch64 platforms. The test is
set to require aarch64 as a result.
