then we can easily check if the allocation is to exceed UINT32_MAX.
Then there are no changes to the API and the code doing this should

This turned out to be a simple shortcoming of the validation test. This
error case can happen also on 64-bit targets. There was no
specification, API, and implementation change necessary, just a fix in
the test code:
