Hm, to me it is obvious that all branches contain RTEMS modifications.

No, using the linker garbage collection is mandatory from my point of
view. It is important to reduce the code size. Also all libbsd reference
BSPs enable it, so all testing is done with the linker garbage
collection enabled.
