Not this patch I assume. I think you mean the gdb patch referenced here:

point in adding one now. :)

Filing a ticket just so it can have the gdb patch attached is good. Do we
close it when we are using the patch or when it is upstream?
That is a good idea and use of the ticket. I would not assign a milestone so it
floats on a release.
