the i.MX7 has complex DMA controller (SDMA) which needs a firmware

You can generate a firmware source file with this libbsd provided script:
./firmware-gen.py -l LICENSE.sdma_firmware sdma_fw sdma-imx7d.bin
sdma-imx7d.c
What do we want to do with such files? Without this firmware you cannot
use the DMA controller on this platform.
