ath9k from my point of view.
One note on that... if you use ath9k_htc (mostly usb devices) the
firmware has a hard limit of 8 STAs. If your mesh is thin or small
enough that no node can see more than 8 others, then no problem and it
seems to work great, though you may need to set hwcrypt=1 in the module
params if you intend to use SAE. If it's denser, then the firmware limit
causes a lot of issues issues. We had to drop ath9k_htc in favor of
rt2800usb devices (which have their own quirks) for our 25 node test mesh.
