We currently have WebUI enabled in the Live images only. Fedora Server
still uses GTK UI. Remote installation doesn't make much sense for Live
images, but for Atomic it allows to run interactive installation on edge
devices by lowering the requirements (RAM/CPU) of the installation process.
When WebUI will be enabled on Fedora Server, it will have this remote
installation feature available too. But it is not planned for Fedora 45.
This is a self-contained change because the feature doesn't have any
external dependencies, and has no impact on the default installation
process or any of the existing installation workflows. It doesn't change
existing release criteria. Rather it is a completely new additional
option, essentially a tech preview for people to try and provide the
feedback to the development team.
We could have added it without submitting any change at all. But we
created a self-contained change to increase the awareness and invite
more folks to try it out.
