Hi!
I have prepared updates to protobuf-c library and protobuf3-c. I think
protobuf-c should be still the preferred variant by everyone. So I used
similar trick that Mirek used, but bumped release to 80 on original
package. Added explicit conflicts declarations, removed obsoletes from
protobuf3-c.
To make possible installation of both protobuf-c and protobuf3-c on a
single system, I created custom sover on protobuf3-c. But I am not sure
whether that compat package is needed at all.
I have created copr repo with hopefully all dependencies:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/pemensik/protobuf/
All packages except knot-resolver has built fine with protobuf-c built
using the latest version. Knot-resolver is broken for a different reason
anyway since f44.
I was wondering what version is used by my DNS package implementing
dnstap. I found some problems in bind building and fixed that. All other
packages seems prepared, found no evidence we need both versions alive.
If anyone has some production data and could compare both versions can
work on them, please test it. I do not have anything decent.
criu package seems fixed.
Added few comments to rebase bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2357750
As far as I can tell, protobuf-c can use the latest version.
Regards,
Petr

New protobuf and packages that successfully built with that were sent
to rawhide

It should be available there in next compose (likely tomorrow).
It landed rawhide today.
There is a likely problem with funcionality of criu package, but the
failure was there even with previous update.
The protobuf-java package is functional, but can be done better. I
will try to package some optional deps.
Please report any issues you experience.
