Hey all, this a friendly reminder that the last MPEG-4 Visual patent
(from Brazil nonetheless) expires later this month on the 19th
(2026-07-19).

As far as I have info about this codec it's what powers DivX/Xvid and
Fedora seems to have added official support once the patents that
matter to the U.S. territory have expired.

Afaik nothing recent does actually uses this codec but you might
potentially have access to some older content in that format.
