Hi,

In the last 12 months, all the members of the openstack-sig group (
https://src.fedoraproject.org/group/openstack-sig) have moved to other
projects and can not longer commit to invest time on maintaining the
OpenStack client packages in Fedora.

This group has been maintaining both OpenStack client packages and some
other packages required to run OpenStack server services (mostly python,
some of them can be probably removed from Fedora). While RDO project is
shifting to containers (
https://lists.rdoproject.org/archives/list/[email protected]/thread/7GZR6YSWE76W57XDKYN5SDPNK2YQPCUY/
), I still see value on maintaining the OpenStack clients alive on Fedora
and EPEL.

In the last months, the existing members of the openstack-sig have been
fixing the FTBFS issues to keep the packages alive in Fedora but for proper
maintenance, it will be required more effort that we can commit. In the
near future, there are two activities:

- Branch epel10 openstack clients (
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2368913).
- Update packages to the Gazpacho releases (will be released on Mar 30 -
Apr 03)

I'm asking for volunteers to maintain those packages in Fedora. It could be
taking main or co maintainer role of a subset of them or becoming part of
the openstack-sig group. Also, main maintainer should be transferred to
active maintainers.

Best regards,

Alfredo
