True, but from what I can tell only developers complained with real
users either being unaffected or not vocal about it.
Developers are real users too.
Developers are also the ones that become contributors, and are by far
the most important type of user that we want to encourage to use
Fedora.
Who is we? Even if this opinion is representative within the devel mailing list (I'm not
reading enough here to know), I doubt it is outside, and it surely is not what is
presented / propagated to the world outside. The contributors to Fedora are not limited
to people participating here nor to developers in general. Developers are a major group
definitely! But don't neglect that we identify a lot of bugs and other issues through
large amounts of users testing Fedora in many circumstances with many hardware
constellations, feedbacking through Discourse or Matrix. And there are many more
contributions that are added by people who are no developers, "Fedora" does not
just depend on people doing development.
Your argument can explain much actions/outcomes in Fedora's development and
packaging imho: If the outcome/consensus of the Fedora developers is to neglect
other stakeholder groups (in general or to some extent), this needs to be
communicated and discussed, not just agreed in the devel mailing list or in
some bug reports of development tools, without telling others: I *don't* say
the argument is wrong nor that it should be wrong, but it is not what is
communicated outside, and not what others expect given the information they are
presented with. This does not help either group (my two cents to that breakout
session:)
