Hey Folks,
Typically Fedora hosts have shown remote names in terminal windows
when sshed in but I've notice in a number of cases this no longer
happens on remote F-43 hosts.
Is this an expected change? I'm not even siure whether this is openssh
or if it's provided by another component to know where to begin
looking.
I think it's via the PS1 environment variable, and it's not done by ssh
but by the remote shell.
PS1="\[\e]0; the title is user@host:\w\a\]# and the prompt is \w .. "
will set the title and prompt (BTW, this sets up the prompt to start
with # so that you can cut and paste shell window content without
tripping up on commands)
So, somehow, shells stopped setting PS1?
