Fedora has been using mdadm for Intel Matrix RAID since a very long long time: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/Features/MDRaid dated 2009-07-16 . So unless anaconda for some reason has switched back to using dmraid for IMSM based BIOS raid sets since that Fedora 12 change, your problem is not related to the recent plans to drop dmraid support.
