As much as benchmarks make me loopy... they are only as valid, as they actually represent the workload, and many don't. But. The Phoronix test suite might be a starting point in finding unusually bad things to look into. (Conversely, unusually good results I consider equally suspicious but, like, haha ... am I gonna care as much?
