Yes, I have written such spec file lines, and while
they are correct, they tend to be ugly to parse for
humans.
While I know it is personal preference, I tend to
prefer (and try to write my spec files) such that
the new/improved/future way be in first (true)
part of the if stanza and else part contains the
legacy or compatibility part, thinking that in
some (far) future I can choose to mostly just
delete all the else legacy code.
