GConf2 has been deprecated for well over a decade and afaik unmaintained for nearly half a decade. Thus: please just remove it from your dependencies and use gsettings instead (the upstream replacement). Many packages might actually not require it at all: emacs was pulling it in, but it works just fine without it and with gsettings instead. Cheers, Dan
