I feel guilty because I wrote the original Hello World artlcle 10 years
ago, after my brain overheated while reading RPM manuals---I saw a need
for a simple tutorial that would quickly start people in RPM packagaging.
Over the years fo course the best practices changed and the original
material became dated, so it's time to update this. I am willing to do
that, but I need some help, as I'm a little rusty with the latest
techniques---in my youth we used to carve raw zeroes and ones from the
bedrock and carry them home on donkeys.
I understand that Zbigniew's workflow (git/spectool/fedpkg/mock) is the
recommended approach. I am not opposed to recommending some arcane
.rpminit configuration, if it's one time and easily copied and pasted,
as a modern equivalent of rpmdev-setuptree.
