I used them until the images stopped fitting, but that was not really the
point. I used CD size as a tangible unit to measure things in. If you prefer
straightforward abstract units: F17: 0.7 GiB, F27: 1.5 GiB, F28: 1.9 GiB.
And the CD size limit was a convenient physical barrier that could be held
against people trying to add more and more bloat to all our images. Once
that barrier was declared irrelevant, that became the excuse to add new
distrowide bloat at every release because there is no hardware limit anyway.
(If that continues, we will be hitting the DVD size limit soon, but I guess
at that point the responsible will simply declare DVDs "obsolete" as well.)
