Hi, I created a PR on github https://github.com/cyrusimap/cyrus-sasl/pull/805 that simply adds a "foreground only" option (-f) to the saslauthd. Currently, one can only prevent daemonization of saslauthd by using -d, which at the same time activates verbose mode. This is not helpful for service supervision schemes that rely on services running in foreground (e.g., runit).
