I think your admins should be specified without a domain, like "admins: cyrus", and then they should be entered into the sasl db as "cyrus@[defaultdomain]", where "[defaultdomain]" is the value of the "defaultdomain" imapd.conf setting. The default defaultdomain (heh) is "internal", and we do not recommend changing it. So if you leave it as the default, then I think you'll need to add an entry for "cyrus@internal" to the sasl db for it to hook up correctly. I believe you _can_ have admins with real domains.
