I think we're still missing NOTICE details for Apache licensed 3rd party libs in the bin tar.gz.
For instance, scala-xml has this NOTICE file: https://github.com/scala/scala-xml/blob/main/NOTICE We don't seem to have this in the bin tar.gz. This is just one example. I think most of the Scala libs have NOTICE files and there is a good chance that other ASL jars have them too. The Pekko NOTICE files are worth checking too because the document some third party source in their jars. For the pekko-actor jar, you have: https://github.com/apache/pekko/blob/main/legal/pekko-actor-jar-notice.txt On 2025/11/27 18:55:11 Luciano Resende wrote: > On Thu, Nov 27, 2025 at 3:47 PM Luciano Resende <[email protected]> > wrote: > > > Please vote to approve the release of Apache Toree 0.6.0-incubating (RC3). > > > > This new release introduces: > > - Support Apache Spark 3.4.4 > > - Support for Scala 2.13 > > - Migrated to use Apache Pekko instead of Akka > > - Update ScalaInterpreter to use context classloader > > - Add support to ARM platform on docker images > > - Reply message should implement status field > > - Fix deadlock on closing ZMQ by upgrading jeromq to 0.5.3 > > - Update AddJar command to support AWS S3a cloud storage > > - Update AddJar command to support Google cloud storage > > - Fire postRunCell event after cell execution > > > > > > https://github.com/apache/incubator-toree/compare/v0.5.0-incubating...v0.6.0-incubating-rc3 > > > > > > Also, note that for this release, due to changes on the Incubator release > > policy, we are > > producing two pip packages, one as apache-toree and another as toree for > > backward > > compatibility purposes. > > > > Tag: v0.6.0-incubating-rc3 (489cb8afd9d93e31a2887b96c7ee194994edd54d) > > > > https://github.com/apache/incubator-toree/tree/v0.6.0-incubating-rc3 > > > > All distribution packages, including signatures, digests, etc. can be > > found at: > > > > > > https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/incubator/toree/0.6.0-incubating-rc3/ > > > > Staging artifacts can be found at: > > > > https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachetoree-1023 > > > > ## Testing Instructions > > > > The fastest way to get up and running is to using Jupyter. > > > > 1.
