For a historical record,
backport of JSR 356 implementation to Tomcat 7
and deprecation of Tomcat's proprietary API was done in Tomcat 7.0.43, released
in 7.0.47. (Versions 7.0.43-.46 did not pass release vote).

To make use of JSR 356 in Tomcat 7, one has to run it with Java 7 or later.
