i'm building tomcat 8.0.9 tarball

Apache Ant(TM) version 1.9.4 compiled on July 18 2014
when I exec an ant build, i get an eventual fatal failure

not sure (yet) what's failing in Tomcat8 ... my TC7 builds are OK.
