TC5.5 still creates jasper-compiler-jdt.jar but your patch downloads ecj-${jdt.version}.jar Can ecj-3.7.jar be loaded by JDK 1.4 as is? If it can, it is OK to update TC5.5 to use it directly. I do not have JDK 1.4 installed to test it.
