For the benefit of anybody else looking at the summary of this bug in the future, yes it's wrong, it should be something like "random crashes and failure to handle some URLs". We have a small number of development systems that are still running MacOSX 10.1.5 with Apache 1.3.26. I've built the patched mod_jk 1.2.27 for those. It works there with essentially the same httpd.conf -- except I need to use 'SetHandler jakarta-servlet', JkMount and JkMountCopy do not work as expected.
