Tomcat6 distribution tar.gz binary archives (for example
apache-tomcat-6.0.18.tar.gz taken from here
http://archive.apache.org/dist/tomcat/tomcat-6/v6.0.18/bin/) do not contain sh
scripts inside - only bat-files and windows executables.
There is startup.bat, shutdown.bat etc, but there is no startup.sh, shutdown.sh
there. I have checked at least versions 6.0.14, 6.0.16 and 6.0.18
zip versions do contain both bat and sh scripts.
Since tar.gz seems to be related more to linux/unix rather than to windows, it
seems to be natural to see sh-scripts inside tar.gz tomcat archive, and zip
tomcat archive can contain only bats.
