This is for post 1.2 feature The proper solution would be to use rewriting as well as configurable session identifier, because configurable session identifier would require additional changes in Tomcat as well, and that won't happen because it breaks the spec. The only solution is to rewrite the JSESSIONID cookie or ;jsessionid path on the fly on each request/response.
