I see where you are coming from. I still don't think there will be much (or indeed any) work on 6.0.x once 6.2.x is stable but you are right, we don't need to freeze 6.0.x and we will see what happens. In the absence of any other comments, I intend to implement Stage 1 (with appropriate updates to the svn page on the web site) some time tomorrow evening GMT.
