This code (no flush) is pretty old and was provided by i5/OS IBM Labs,
so better stick with it. On V5R3 and previous release, we didn't see

I'm pretty sure, of all of us committers you are in the best position to
answer this. Maybe a short poll on the users list will give indication,
if any i5/OS users out there are following our work.
