It is not redundant: There is a change with 8.5 that support for the sendReasonPhrase attribute has been removed, and there are many items below that one that are marked with "<em>The following change is present in 8.5.0 onwards.</em>", as this guide is for upgrading from 8.0 as well, not just from 8.5. I published the changes.
