Just to confirm, I intend to tag 11.0.x tomorrow and that I intend the
next 11.0.x release to be a BETA release.
That does beg the question how long until we have a stable release.
Given the similarity between 11.0.x and 10.1.x I don't think we need to
wait very long. Thoughts?
I think it depends upon what we consider to be "stable". The Tomcat
definition of "stable" is quite permissive. For example, we add and
remove stuff all the time so it's not our APIs that are stable. Same
with configuration, features, etc.
But I think we all probably feel like it's feature-complete and supports
all the specs. If we pass all the relevant TCKs and things generally
work for anyone who tries it with their application, then we should be
able to call it "stable" at any time.
I would just prefer to call the first stable release 11.0.0 instead of
waiting foe 11.0.5 or whatever because I find that confusing. Can we
continue with the -MX version extensions until we feel like an initial
version is good to go? We can simply re-release the final -MX release
with zero changes as 11.0.0 when we are happy with it.

A bunch of minor issues built up in my TODO list while I was at

+1
In related news, the release ballots for Servlet and Pages have
completed successfully. There is some admin that needs to be
completed there as well but the key impact for us is that the next
Tomcat 11 vote will be for a BETA release rather than an ALPHA release.

My current guess is that I'll be in a position to tag 11.0.x towards
the end of the week. I'll provide an update if that changes after I
have triaged my inbox.
Sounds good to me.
