I've never seen this exception before, so it is probably not very common.
Restoring the state with a try/finally and propagating this very unexpected
exception is likely good enough, especially since you were nice enough to test
it. I credited you as zhougang but if you would like something else let me
know.
The patch will be in 11M4, 10.1.7, 9.0.73 and 8.5.87.
