Bug ID: 66381 Summary: Apache Tomcat on IRC: Refers to wrong channel and/or broken Product: Tomcat 11 Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: Documentation Assignee: dev@tomcat.apache.org Reporter: chea...@gmail.com Target Milestone: ------- The Apache Tomcat on IRC page at https://tomcat.apache.org/irc.html refers to #tomcat at irc.freenode.net and links to http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=tomcat as a way to join it via a browser. Unfortunately, there are only 4 users in that channel (excluding me) as I write these lines. It doesn't even have a channel topic. Moreover, strangely, the link will by default open #freenode, which is of course quite irrelevant/confusing. Finally, it took me minutes to connect (I obtained "Closing link: (~pcloutier@...) [Registration timeout]" several times). Meanwhile, #tomcat on Libera has 19 other users. It has a topic (although it is not reassuring). I think the page should revisit which channel(s) it should mention and fix how it suggests to join it/them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@tomcat.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@tomcat.apache.org
