I like removing the duplication. The problem with doing the same for jni is tagging. When an external is tagged the files represented by the external are not included in the tag so we would be unable to reproduce the TC6 builds from the tag. If there were a solution to this, we could use it for most of the connector code that is duplicated in TC6. On a related note, the tags for native are currently in: /tomcat/connectors/tags/other/ Unless any one objects, I'd like to move them to /tomcat/connectors/tags/native so they have the same visibility as jk1.2.x.
