I'm not quite sure I understand why, so please could you elaborate.
* Since setString() is invoked after setChars(), a toString() on (which
is pretty much the only method invoked on mappingData.requestPath and
mappingData.wrapperPath) either of those objects would always return the
value set by the setString() call wouldn't it?
* In the else block of the if statement pathStr = path.toString(), so
both setChars() and setString() set the same value don't they?
