Thoughts on back-porting this? We don't need to back-port it. The
primary benefit I see is consistency.

Yes, no problem, but you make it sound like there's some risk involved (?).

No risk I am aware of. Just wanted to give others a chance to speak up if they could see a reason not to backport.
