This was with Tomcat 5.0.28 using Java 1.5.0_11. The code in org.apache.coyote.http11.InternalOutputBuffer.write() does not check the number of bytes written to the byte buffer 'buf'. As a workaround, try editing the http connector <Connector port="8080" ...> in the server.xml configuration file.
