All, I'd like to propose that we make the move from svn to git for Tomcat 7.0.x, 8.5.x and 9.0.x as soon as the next 7.0.x release is complete.
The proposed approach is documented here: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TOMCAT/Git+migration I anticipate that the repositories will be read only for a couple of hours. I also anticipate that the CI systems - particularly Gump - will take up to a day to switch over and iron out any problems. Any objections? If not, I'll start a formal VOTE.
