Since Tomcat 7.0.70 the behaviour of getRequestURI has changed, this was done
to fix https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=59317.
Applications that are depending on this behaviour (as this was consistent
across other servlet containers) have now broken, see
https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/MNT-16664 and
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-13556 for two examples.
A configuration option was hinted at in the mailing list
(http://markmail.org/message/jwm5ip245empcghi#query:+page:1+mid:pxweasg3n5qr4rce+state:results),
this issue report is a formal request for such a configuration option.
